Buds film fiesta by its name connotes growth. To grow, it requires proper nourishment and great deal of care and effort. Nepali film industry at its current state is just like a bud, waiting to grow, to develop ,to transform and blossom into a beautiful fragrant flower. It is a step initiated to provide that nourishment by celebrating independent short films and promoting fresh ideas, new stories, and original contents. Contemplating this, Gopikrishna Movies, one of the leading movie company of Nepal has provided a large venue at its theatre in Chabahil, a friendly rendezvous for students, film lovers, critics and film fraternity to celebrate Buds Film Fiesta and participate in dicussions and forums to share experiences and thoughts only to grow more. Organized by CIPA (Creative Intra-national Production Arts) Buds film fiesta is going to be held from September 6th to September 9th 2010. Film itself as a form of art and medium of expression no criteria have been set regarding discipline, genre, and subject of the film. Buds film fiesta is a non-competitive festival; but to encourage zealous participation; prizes will be given to three best films as; ‘The best Buds short fiction film’, ‘The best Buds documentary film’, and ‘The best Buds film fiesta film’. Nonetheless, we are also delighted to include participants not willing to comprise their film in the competition.
